Coffee Flavorings

While flavorings are different things color our perception and make the blue-gray drabness of our lives spiced with flare, I have a problem with the flavorings of certain things. Coffee flavorings being this thing; it would seem to me if you wanted to do have flavored coffee you would just have something else. Coffee is such a specific and such a lovely thing on its own, that flavoring it just seems like throwing down weeds in a Rose Garden. But for some, coffee flavorings is the only way to make it through their morning cup and if you think that just flavoring coffee is bad, there are some who even by the flavored beans (!) I'll never understand this phenomenon but as I press on ever forward to more interest in finding out about the coffee flavorings and what it means to me as a consumer. More to the point; what it means to the average consumer as a consumer.

Coffee flavorings have stuck to the roof of the mouth of people for lots of years now and while we all had our day with things like the Blow Pop and Jolly Ranchers around the schoolyard in grade school, we’ve got to move past that ultimately, or face dire straights. I don’t know what our generation is going to grow up like, as I speak to people who are my contemporaries (late 20’s) and I (as the son of a dietician) am appalled by what I hear and what I witness my friends eating! Coffee flavorings are a small part of this but it’s a part nonetheless.

Coffee flavorings come in many different shapes and sizes. French Vanilla, Raspberry, and Hazelnut to name just a few. These flavorings are added on like an extra topping; heavy cream, sugar, and coffee flavorings to top off the mix.

While I bemoan the use of coffee flavorings, many of them do present an interesting alternative. Many people who drink coffee have late onset or Type 2 diabetes. One of the only joys they’re able to get out of their cup of coffee anymore is the sugar free coffee flavorings that are offered. Torani is a brand that offers the sugar free coffee flavoring

While there are many other things you can do with flavorings besides add them to your coffee, there are many productive things that can happen out of this. Coffee flavoring recipes are available both in print and online to add that little something extra to your foods that are not coffee originated. Coffee flavoring is also available wholesale rather than buying the small bottles in small quantities, or individually.
